AFRICA ARCHITECTURE AWARDS: 20 SHORTLISTED PROJECTS ANNOUNCED

August 04 2017

On 27 July 2017, the shortlist of 20 projects, from an unprecedented 307 entries in 32 African countries, were announced at The Workhorse Bronze Foundry (Johannesburg, South Africa).

Over 550 African media have published articles about the awards, and more than 100 000 people have participated in the public voting component of the Africa Architecture Awards People’s Choice award.

Although still in its infancy, the awards programme, launched by Saint-Gobain sub-Saharan Africa, has already become one of the most successful architecture awards programmes on the continent. It is the first to invite entries from across Africa, for any project that pertains to Africa, regardless of where the architectural firm is located.

The trophy winners and the overall grand prize will be announced on 28 September 2017 at the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa in Cape Town.
