Mozambique : Saint-Gobain PAM supplies the Greater Maputo project

April 07 2017

The project called ‘’Greater Maputo’’ is part of a context of strong demographic growth in Sub-Saharan Africa. Therefore in order to face this development, cities need to set up water facilities.

Saint-Gobain PAM has been selected thanks to the complete solution it offers, both logistical and technical. The brand made a difference with complementary products and numerous know-hows.

More than 33 000 tons of Saint-Gobain PAM pipes and fittings are being delivered in Mozambique, through PAMEX. The products, representing 93 km of pipes, will connect the dam of Corumana with the city of Maputo.

The pipes supplied were mainly DN 200 to DN 1200 mm, from PUX and Hydroclass Zinalium product lines.

Saint-Gobain teams managed the whole logistics “on time in full”, from manufacturing sites up to delivery the 5 working sites in Mozambique.

Greater Maputo is a major project financed by the World Bank for the FIPAG (Fundo de Investimento de Património e Abastecimento de Água), final user.
