Saint-Gobain supplied Dembel Mall in Ethiopia

Saint-Gobain supplied the Dembel Mall in Ethiopia (Addis Ababa) with SGG REFLECTASOL, a reflective solar control glass.

Located in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Dembel City Center is also known as Dembel Mall. It was one of the first western-style shopping malls to open in Ethiopia. Built in 2002, it is a twelve-floor structure with 105 shops, restaurants and galleries.

To provide heat resistance on the inside while ensuring a great exterior appearance, Saint-Gobain Glass provided SGG REFLECTASOL glazing.

  • This reflective solar control glass helps keep the interiors cool and reduces power consumption.
  • It can be used for external or internal use.
  • Its low light transmittance guarantees visual comfort against direct sunlight.

The combination of high light reflectance and low light transmittance provides internal privacy, even in buildings with large glazed areas.

Bole Road, where Dembel Mall has been erected, is experiencing a major construction boom, spurred by the growing Ethiopian economy.
