In the last week of June, a brand new Saint-Gobain Weber plant started production in Luanda, the capital city of Angola. Under the leadership of managing director Bruno Carreira, the factory produces a range of tile adhesives. Although initially intended for the Angolan market, the products will be exported to neighbouring countries as production increases. The plant was built in only two months and was designed to work as simply and efficiently as possible. The new operation is in line with Saint-Gobain’s objective of expansion in Africa and is a joint venture with a local partner. Angola is the third biggest economy in sub-Saharan Africa (after Nigeria and South Africa) and offers a growing market for construction products.
