Lisampere is a massive residential complex located in Luanda (Angola). It uses 80 000 square metres of solar control SGG COOL-LITE ST167 and laminated SGG STADIP glass from Saint-Gobain Glass to improve thermal comfort and safety SGG COOL-LITE is a solar control glass manufactured by depositing a coating of metallic oxides. It magnetically enhances cathodic sputtering under vacuum conditions onto clear or body-tinted glass. This coating gives the glass its solar control properties and its distinctive appearance. SGG COOL-LITE is unique in that it can be toughened and curved after the coating has been applied. SGG STADIP is made up of two or more sheets of glass bonded together with a plastic interlayer. After the plastic has been placed between the glass sheets, the whole assembly is subjected to heat and pressure. This results in the complete adhesion of the vinyl and the glass. In the event of breakage, the glass fragments remain bonded to the plastic interlayer. In a fully framed conventional installation, the glass fragments are held together and the glass retains residual strength while awaiting replacement.
