Saint-Gobain took part in the renovation of Mulago Hospital, the largest hospital in Uganda. Healthcare facilities raise unique challenges in meeting the needs of staff and patients. Professionals require a calm environment for clear communication and decisive action, while patients require recuperation and rest. To improve the wellbeing of patients and hospital staff, Saint-Gobain provided more than 30 000 square metres of Saint-Gobain Gyproc Gyprex™ ceiling tiles together with Gypframe™ grid systems. These products were installed mainly in rooms and corridors. Gyprex™ vinyl faced ceiling tiles, with their easy maintenance and wipe-clean properties, have been specially developed as the ideal suspended ceiling solution for hygiene-sensitive areas. The renovation was led by Sharp Shop Architects.
