Saint-Gobain, in partnership with International Labour Organisation (ILO) and Green Jobs Programme in Zambia, is taking part in the third Zambia International Property (ZIP) exposition, to be held on the 19th and 20th May 2017 in Lusaka.
Through collaboration on projects to raise awareness on skill development in the built environment, Saint-Gobain has been active in the success of the Academy for Skills Development in Zambia. The initiative aims to build capacity and train students on how to use sustainable materials through training. The partnership collaborates with Technical Education, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training Authority (TEVETA), the National Union of Building, Engineering and General Workers (NUBEGW) and Association of Building and Civil Engineering Contractors (ABCEC), to offer a training programme resulting in receiving a locally recognised certification in ceiling and partition installation training specifically.
The ZIP Expo 2017, brings together the whole of the Zambian real estate community – banks, developers, government agencies, construction trade professionals and consumers – to showcase, network, unveil and inform on the future of the built environment in light of green initiatives to combat climate change and to encourage the use of sustainable building methods and materials available today.
Building solutions geared at sustainable construction, comfort, as well as ease of maintenance and general safety will be presented by Saint-Gobain at the event.
