Revolutionizing Infrastructure at Tanzania Port Authority

Gyproc Saint-Gobain supplied the Tanzania Port Authority headquarters in Dar-Es-Salaam with 13 000 square metres of board for ceilings and wall partitions.

The Tanzania Port Authority headquarters is a multipurpose building, accommodating commercial spaces, parking as well as a conference hall. Completed in 2015, it is located in Dar-Es-Salaam.

The ceilings used 13 000 square metres of standard gypsum board provided by Saint-Gobain Gyproc RhinoBoard. With an aerated gypsum core encased in and firmly bonded to strong paper liners, this product is suitable for use in most system applications where normal fire, structural and acoustic levels are specified.

In addition to this, 3 500 square metres of Saint-Gobain Gyproc MoistureResistant plasterboard was supplied for ceilings in wet areas such as ablution facilities.

Saint-Gobain also provided 52 tons of Gyproc Projection Plaster Wall Finish plaster, which provides distinctive aesthetics to enhance the interior styling of any building.

The project was led by K&M Archplans architects.
