PAM - Leading the Charge for Water Access

PAM, a leader in complete ductile iron pipe solutions for water and sanitation networks, has marked a significant milestone in early 2024 with leading contracts secured in Europe and beyond. Notably, our endeavors in Africa are making a profound impact. In Angola, working in collaboration with the Angolan Ministry of Energy and Water, and with co-financing from the World Bank and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), we are embarking on a transformative project. This initiative aims to provide clean drinking water to 3.8 million people in the Bita area, southwest of Luanda. The imminent delivery of the first network sections in the spring marks a significant step towards achieving this vital goal.

Sustainable Solutions in Action

In a world where access to clean water is increasingly precarious, our commitment to sustainability and innovation shines through. The durability and technical excellence of our ductile iron solutions demonstrate their superiority over alternatives such as plastic, especially when it comes to ensuring the widespread distribution of quality water.

Gyproc South Africa's Innovative Solutions

Water conservation is a shared concern, and Gyproc's innovative projects underscore our collective commitment to sustainability. The Dryer Heat Exchanger Condensate Recovery project, implemented at the Brakpan site, has already saved 2,708 m^3 of water within a year, equivalent to substantial cost savings and environmental benefits.

Isover South Africa's Transformative Initiatives

Among our major initiatives, Isover is spearheading transformative projects aimed at reducing waste and conserving water. The Wet Waste Recycling System, operational since February 2024, is set to slash landfill waste by 60%, with a significant portion of wet waste reintegrated into production processes. Additionally, through the Act project, our Springs site has achieved a remarkable 68% reduction in daily water consumption for glass wool production, setting a new standard for sustainability within our brand.

a.b.e ® Mauritius: Embracing Water Conservation.

In Mauritius, our a.b.e ® plant has taken significant strides towards water conservation by implementing a water-saving initiative in the Wet-line Waterproofing section. Since 2023, we've been actively reusing effluent generated during cleaning processes, redirecting it to produce water-based products. This innovative approach not only minimizes water wastage but also underscores our dedication to sustainability across all facets of our operations.

As we celebrate World Water Day, let us recommit ourselves to the pursuit of sustainable solutions and equitable access to this most precious resource. Together, we can build a future where clean water flows freely for all.
