The release of hazardous substances from construction products on jobsites exposes construction workers to health risks. 

Sorting and collecting waste on contruction sites is key, to improve reuse or recycling of materials.

Extending the useful life of buildings helps ensuring that resources are exploited to their maximum capacity. 

Buildings should reduce their fresh water consumption, and even aim for autonomy in water supply during their useful life.

Once the energy needs have been reduced to the minimum, the remaining needed energy should be supplied with renewable and decarbonized sources, locally produced if possible. 

We believe that the building should first be energy-efficient through its highly performing envelope.

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Saint-Gobain Construction Products South Africa as the official distributor of the AshgridTM Spacer system in South Africa.

The first prize was awarded to the team from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture et de Paysage de Bordeaux (ENSAP Bordeaux) in co-operation with the Institut Supérieur Aquitain du Bâtiment et des Travaux Publics d'Anglet (ISA BTP Anglet).

Saint-Gobain South Africa, through the assistance of the Saint-Gobain Foundation have undertaken a 5-year long-term project with the Mvelaphanda Primary School in Tembisa.
